Elon Musk was found to have been misleading in his public statements during a critical phase of his 2022 Twitter takeover, a jury has determined.
After two days of deliberation, a jury in a San Francisco federal court ruled against the tech entrepreneur, who was sued by a group of Twitter investors claiming they relied on his statements.
During his testimony earlier this month, Musk argued that the public had overinterpreted his comments and tweets.
However, the jury concluded that his public claims about issues with Twitter's user metrics and his intention to withdraw from the $44 billion acquisition deal were intentionally misleading.
