President Donald Trump responded with apparent satisfaction to the death of an American hero whom he had previously cast as a political adversary. Former special counsel Robert Mueller passed away at age 81 on Friday night, according to a statement from his family. Mueller, a Bronze Star combat veteran known for his strong faith, dedication to family, and public service, led the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, which drew Trump's ire.
"With deep sadness, we are sharing the news that Bob passed away," his family said in a statement on Saturday. "His family asks that their privacy be respected."
