Ronnie O'Sullivan secured a tense deciding frame victory against China's Wu Yize at the World Open in Yushan, reaching his first ranking final in over two years.

This followed his record-breaking performance the previous day, where he made the sport's highest-ever professional break of 153 during a 5-0 quarter-final win over Welshman Ryan Day.

The seven-time world champion was never behind in the match against Wu but found it difficult to pull away from the world number 11 before ultimately clinching a 6-5 victory.

In the deciding frame, Wu initially took the lead with a break of 43. However, 50-year-old O'Sullivan capitalized on a poor safety shot by potting a long red and maintained his composure to complete a clearance of 89.

O'Sullivan advances to his 66th ranking event final, marking his first since defeating Judd Trump to win the World Grand Prix in January 2024.
